Amara Tree provides a range of online training solutions centred around beauty, massage and holistic courses.

The brief

 The demand for online courses has been on the rise as remote learning (and remote working) is increasingly becoming commonplace with more and more people opting to learn from the comfort of their home in place of a traditional learning environment.

As is the case with most things digital, the rise in demand has been outperformed by the rise in the number of service providers in the space which has led to an increase in competition and traffic acquisition costs.

Flow20’s was job description was to find ways to get the traffic and online course sales moving north again and to find economically feasible ways to sustain the growth.

The work

 The first task was to The drop in sales had taken a toll on the company’s cash flow and the first step was to decide which platform would deliver online course sales at the lowest acquisition costs.

Since the website still had a decent level of new visitors each month, re-targeting users who are already familiar with the brand (i.e. warm traffic) on Facebook and Instagram would be a good way to get started as this method usually has a higher conversion rate than cold traffic.

Once the re-targeting strategy begins to deliver a positive ROI, the idea would be to put that back into SEO to increase the organic traffic levels as typically, SEO will deliver leads at a lower Cost Per Acquisition than PPC.

Results

Phase 1 of the campaign was a success with the warmer traffic delivering each course sale at an average of £21 which was 1/6 the cost of an average course price of £120.

Phase 2 which was to get the traffic levels moving north again is already showing good signs and the campaign is still ongoing.
